Graffiti

Graffiti always looks bad and gives the impression the property is not being maintained.  At BPSI, we suggest you always take pictures, and give them to the police, taggers can be identified by their graffiti.

BPSI uses different methods to remove graffiti depending on the location of the graffiti and the surfaces it is on.  It can be removed by power washing, chemicals, hydro sand blasting, painting or a combination of methods.

  • Metal, glass or similar surfaces, such as a sign are best removed with chemicals.  This includes windows, signs and unpainted utility boxes.
  • Split faced block walls are best removed with hydro-sandblasting. Hydro-sandblasting is also effective on bollard, concrete & tire stops.
  • Other surfaces need to be painted.  We recommend using a matching paint looks best blending with the existing texture, not standing out as a rectangle.
  • Some graffiti needs to be removed with a combination of methods.  Our trained techs know the best method to remove the graffiti and make your property look it’s best.

You can make removal easier with an Anti-Graffiti Coating

There are anti-graffiti films you can use and there are two types of anti-graffiti coatings, sacrificial and permanent (or non-sacrificial) that can be used to make graffiti removal easier.

  • Sacrificial Anti-Graffiti Coating –  A sacrificial anti-graffiti coating creates a clear-coat barrier over the surface being protected. If the surface is vandalized, the protective coating can be removed (in other words, sacrificed) using a high-pressure washer, taking the graffiti with it. Sacrificial coatings are great for sound barriers, building exteriors, bridges, tanks, and any other surfaces with ground-level access.
  • Permanent (or Non-Sacrificial) Coating Permanent anti-graffiti coatings are often more expensive than sacrificial coatings, but if used appropriately only have to be applied once. They work by creating a protective non-stick surface that repels graffiti from paint, spray paint and permanent markers. Simple pressure washing or hand-wiping with water easily removes any graffiti without abrasive cleaning or repainting.
  • You can apply an anti-graffiti window film to a window that can be easily removed to quickly remove any tagging.
